Park Board approves project to start the process to build pickleball courts

Updated: Feb 1

The City of Wilmington Parks and Recreation Board agreed to pass a resolution to start the process to raise funds to build three new pickleball courts. Interim Director- Lori Williams worked hard to gain traction for the project by rallying the local community "pickle ballers" to commit to make donations for the lighting for the overall project and complete surveys from the community. This showed the interest and need for the project. Wilmington Savings Bank quickly committed and made a donation. Thank you for your support! "Pickleball is a growing sport and I fully support the process Lori started to get us some really nice courts for the community to work on their wellness".
