New Park Director

The Park Board hired a new Director of Parks and Recreation. Ivy Ortman comes to us from the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. She worked for Columbus for 23 years and served all populations from kids, adults, seniors, veterans and people with disability and/or impairments. She comes to us with a lot of experience in running programs, special events, camps and activities that are all inclusive. She has served in the Army Reserves for the last 15 years as a combat medic and physical therapy specialist. She has one deployment to the middle east in 2018. "I'm excited to work for the City of Wilmington Parks and Recreation Department". I look forward to working with and meeting people all over the community. Providing positive, fun experiences for everyone to remember for a lifetime is one of my main goals. Nothing is more exciting than being a part of enriching people's lives through nature, wellness, and community".
